ATEX/IECEx Dual Bridge, XY, Bi Directional Load Pins 📰

These 1000klbf (454 tonne) rated load pins have been designed and manufactured for a US company. 24 have been made in total, each with a diameter of 252mm, are 873mm long and weigh 280kgs. Suitable for use in hazardous areas, these ATEX/IECEx load pins are dual bridge (have two independent strain gauge bridges to give dual redundancy), XY (have a further two sets of strain gauges at 90 degrees to each other to facilitate measurement in two directions, and are bi directional (are calibrated with load applied from the top and underneath). This means each load cell has to undergo a total of 8 separate calibrations. They also feature integral amplifiers to provide a 4-20mA output, so all in all, are highly complex load pins to manufacture.
